This was a very special occasion. All weddings are of course but this one very nearly didn't happen at all. A couple of years back the groom Andy suffered a severe stroke and doctors didn't expect him to see the next morning, so bad was the impact of it. All wedding plans were put on ice. However, so great was his determination that he, together with strong support from his fiance Lucinda, was able to make his own wedding day. Most couples are tested after their marriage. Lucinda and Andy have already been, and made it, through a most severe examination of their love for each other. Very inspiring.
Lucinda is a music lover and in particular that of a vintage style. During their day they had music from the 20s, 30s and 40s. I was booked to play alongside Steve Conway a vintage Rat Pack singer, and also Bart & Baker, pioneers of electro swing, and two people whose music I have followed for many years - a great experience.
In addition to the tunes for the early evening and reception party I supplied mood lighting and MC services.
